Please read the following message from the TBC Product Manager:
I would like to inform you that we have released a TBC patch today that is available through “Check for Updates”. I will also post link to the patch via TBC download webpage. The main reason for the patch is the inability to export job files to the latest version of .job file v2.3. Workaround was to export to .jxl.
The “TBC News” link on the start page of the software contains the link to all the issues that this patch resolves. Here is the list:
- You cannot export to version 2.3 Job files due to rounding issues in TBC.
- Users with the older Standard and Advanced TBC licenses cannot use the Create Arc command.
- When the “Use project subfolders” check box is deselected in Options > File Locations, subfolders cannot be created as necessary to support imported images and the images cannot display.
- If you change the units of measurement for distances in Project Settings and you click on a distance value in the Vector or Optical spreadsheet, the value incorrectly increases while it is selected.
- If a station includes two backsights – the first measures horizontal and vertical angles, and distance; the second measures the horizontal angle only – the station position can fail to compute.
- True antenna heights are not being calculated prior to RTX post-processing, resulting in reduced accuracy.
- The File > Help > Support Web Page link goes to the TBC home page rather than the TBC support web page.
- If a surveyor in the field deletes the first of two station observations, an error may occur when you import the Job file.
- Errors occasionally occur when you delete a photo observation.
- A random exception message displays on import.
- Other miscellaneous minor issues.
Main outstanding issues that patch does resolve at this point are:
– TBC crashes on selecting Import and navigating to a folder that contains .exe, .dll, .xls files (workaround is to simply drag and drop files into TBC.
– Cannot open .kmz panoramas in GE v6.1 and above (workaround is to download an earlier version of GE)
