I typically store the 2005 on its cradle. Last week I left it in the pouch overnight and when I went to turn it on the next day, it didn’t respond. I ended up doing a hard reset (held the power button down for 60 seconds) in order to get any signs of life from it.When I went to open TerraSync, I was unable to find the usual location for the program. In File Explorer I searched for “terra” and the only result was the shortcut for TerraSync (the collection program), which did not work. It’s almost as if the program disappeared. The GPS controller works fine, and I am able to see satellites and receive the SBAS signal. Periodically the unit will not turn on and will be remedied either through hard resets, luck, or leaving it alone for a day or two. I know we’re at the end of the useful life of this unit but I really need it to last at least until September.

Answer

Because Jeremy’s Terra Sync was running abnormally on his GEO 2005 we reloaded Terra Sync on it. We first saved his important data from the unit and then did a factory restore to clear it. Then from Trimble’s web site we loaded Terra Sync to his unit and all is working fine. Glad I could help Jeremy. Lane
